Greetings fellow Boggers,
I hope all are doing well,
and this very beginning of the holiday season finds everyone in good health and
fine spirits. Have safe holidays so that I may see you all at 12th Night!
Between two nights a week of class and some
recent work difficulties, my poor little Seneschal brain is a little worn out,
so I will bore you no further this month. Look out for next year though, I may
be saving it up for a good long winded article!

Greetings all,
Winter is a time of reflection, looking back on how
we spent our time in the warmer days and the memories we created with friends
and family. But it is also a time of preparation for the warmer weather
and new memories to come. With that in mind, I wish to remind everyone
that the January issue of the Sentinel will be our big 6 month newsletter to be
mailed out to all Boggers. Inside its folds I hope to have reports from
all the officers (new and/or old) summing up activities under their supervision
and discussing potential new things to come in the next six months. Anyone
else who wishes to have something added into the newsletter, please send it
along to me.
Everyone has been very supportive toward me, so I'd
like to take this chance to give my continued thanks. However, if you have
any opinions or suggestion on the newsletter (how you receive it, the contents),
please let me know. I assemble the information but the newsletter is for
everyone.
Also if you have experienced a change of address, now
is the time to contact either myself or the Chatelaine with your new information
so that it may be updated in our databases.
I wish everyone a safe and joyous holiday season and
hope to see you all under sunny skies at 12th Night!
If you have any questions or would like to submit anything to the newsletter (either the hard copy or electronic version), please contact me at 724-238-0114 or bogchronicler@yahoo.com.
In service,
Lady Caitilin "Cait" ni Mhaolconaire
If you were born in December, please check your authorization card for the expiration date!

Report from the Western Border:
Greetings unto the populace of the Bog and beyond!
Lord Derrick's proposal for Spring Thing 2003 was
accepted by the Barony and is to be held in June - possibly the 14th. More
information will be provided as soon as possible. In the meanwhile,
Derrick would like to request volunteers to help with troll, children's
activities and to serve feast. Anyone wishing to help out, please contact
Derrick at 724-433-6784 or email me (Cait) at snowdragon1027@yahoo.com.

their assistance, should contact her directly at mozina@sgi.net

Lady Kat has also offered her artistic services in the

St. Swithin's Bog Twelfth
Night
January 18, 2003
Viva la France!
Viva la fleur de lys! Once again, we invite the Knowne World to join the Barony of St. Swithin’s Bog in celebrating our annual 12th Night event to be held on Saturday, January 18, 2003. The event will be held at our traditional site: Green Gables in Jennerstown, PA (no street address), an incredible, period-looking hall with stone walls, cathedral ceilings, parquet floors and mullioned windows covered with vines. To enhance our French theme, the wearing and displaying of fleur de lys is most encouraged!
Doors
will open at 10:00 a.m. and close at 9:00 p.m. As Green Gables is a commercial
restaurant with a liquor license, no alcohol can be brought on site; however,
the restaurant will provide a cash bar. For your enjoyment we will have a
luncheon sideboard, entertainment, the Bardic Competition, a sumptuous feast,
court and country dancing in the afternoon, plus our traditional auction.
Autocrat for the event is Dame Vivienne Marie de Beauvais (Pamela Faint, 136 Strayer St., Johnstown, PA
15906, 814-535-6394; ladyviv@gte.net) with Baroness Charmaine of Falkensee as co-autocrat and also entertainment
coordinator (Sally C. Fink, 331 Penn Ave., Johnstown, PA 15905; 814-255-5176; sphink@twd.net). If you have any dietary restrictions, please contact Dame Vivienne. If you wish to be part of our entertainment, please contact Baroness
Charmaine.
The
fee for this grand event will be $18.00 with a $3.00 discount if you bring an
auction item. (No off-board.) Halflings
(12 and under) will be half price at $9.00, but no auction discount. Make
checks payable to "SCA, Inc.—St. Swithin's Bog." Reservations are
